Meet the Staff
About Whittier Community School

Whittier Community School is located in the small town of Whittier, Alaska. The Pre-K through 12th grade student population ranges from 30 to 40 students. There are nine staff members, including three and a half certified teachers, working at the school. School session starts at 9:00am and ends at 3:30pm with a lunch break from 12:15pm to 1:00pm. The students have the opportunity to participate in several extracurricular activities such as high school basketball, middle school soccer, student government, school newspaper, performance arts, and other various clubs. The school’s facilities include a full court basketball gym, performance stage, weight room, cafeteria, school library, art room, woodshop, indoor playground, tunnel, and several classrooms. The Whittier Community School is the largest and most accessible school in the Chugach School District.
